Paul C. Gosnell was born in Meadowbrook,
Pennsylvania on October 16, 1960. He graduated
Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University in
1986 (first percentile), and thereafter worked
for the Allison Gas Turbine Division of General
Motors (subsequently purchased by Rolls-Royce
PLC) as a design engineer for over thirteen and
a half years. He later worked for General
Electric Aircraft Engines in a similar capacity
as an independent contractor. His
responsibilities included the design,
development, and failure investigation of
various facets of aviation and industrial
aero-derivative gas turbine engines, including
hot-section components such as turbine wheels,
seals, blades, vanes, and turbine frames;
cold-section components such as compressor
housing and front frames, mechanical components
such as accessory drives, accessory gearboxes,
high speed bearings, rotating and static seals,
engine sumps, and lubrication systems; and
engine external accessories and components,
including engine starter system, various heat
exchanger systems, and a multiplicity of air and
fluid valves. Paul obtained his Doctor of
Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University at
Indianapolis, Indiana (top third of class). |
